Description
Debussy’s Violin Sonata in G Minor was written as part of a projected cycle of six sonatas for various instruments, of which only three were completed. In fact, it turned out to be Debussy’s final composition.
The premiere took place on 5 May 1917, the violin part played by Gaston Poulet, with Debussy himself at the piano. It was his last public performance.
