Description
The object of this book is to help the pupil to achieve a well developed sound, with equality of tone and fingering over the range of the flute from low C to high B. It is not within the scope or aim of this work to familiarise the pupil with the extreme high notes. It is intended to provide a good foundation.
Ways of working in detail are obviously at the discretion of the pupil, preferably guided by a good teacher. My hope is that this book may help anybody who uses it to enjoy playing scales as music, by developing a beautiful sound.
Simon Hunt studied with Geoffrey Gilbert, Jean-Pierre Rampal and William Bennett. His early career ranged from commercial theatre to opera and ballet. Many years of teaching led to the writing of pedagogical material for young musicians and the formation of his publishing companies, Pan Educational Music and then Hunt Edition.
